ABOUT THE COLOR RUN
The Coyote Color Run is our main fundraiser of the year for Carol Rae Ranch Elementary, and is put on by the PTSO. With the popularity of “Color Runs,” we thought the kids would enjoy being included in something fun (and a tiny bit messy) that promotes fitness and health, while helping them earn money for their school.
By doing our own fundraiser this year, 100% of the proceeds from the run will go to the school. We feel this is going to be a better solution than hiring a company to manage the run for us. Because of this, we have our own website and information going home and we hope that it is a smooth process for you as we transition to doing our own run!
*The website accepts flat fee donations via Paypal.
Parents may contact Cori Tinney at firstname.lastname@example.org at any time for updates on money earned, prizes received, and donation statuses for their specific child. Donations will be collected through November 16, 2018.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHY A COLOR RUN?
Having a color aspect to the run makes it more fun for the kids and gets them in on the color run craze that has been happening the last few years. They will also leave with a fun and uniquely colored shirt that gets more and more colorful the more laps they are able to complete. Color is an incentive to run more laps and adds to the fun.
WHEN AND WHERE WILL THE COLOR RUN TAKE PLACE?
The Coyote Color Run will take place on November 8, 2018 on the field at Carol Rae Ranch during the school day. Times will be staggered depending on what grade your child is in.
HOW DO THE PLEDGES WORK?
Children are encouraged to gather pledges either as a one-time donation or as a per-lap donation. Donations can be given directly to the child with checks made out to Carol Rae Ranch PTSO, or online on the website. Children and classes with the most pledges and donations will earn some really great prizes, and pledges give them great incentive to run! 10% of the pledges collected from each classroom will go directly to the teacher for classroom use.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A "FLAT DONATION" AND A "PER LAP" PLEDGE?
When we ask people if they’d like to help support our school’s Color Run, some choose to make a donation on the spot – they give us their tax-deductible flat donation, or lump sum, before we even run in the Color Run. Other people like to make a per lap pledge: “I’ll give you fifty cents (or a dollar, or ten dollars) a lap.” For per lap pledges, the value of the contribution varies with the number of laps run and so must be collected following the Color Run. The full run will be 36 laps.
WILL MY CHILD GET MESSY?
The nature of the run is a tiny bit messy, as we will be using washable “Color Run” type paints, however, each child will be provided with an official Coyote Color Run T-Shirt to protect their regular clothing from getting messy.
WILL ALL OF THE CHILDREN RUN AT ONCE?
No, the children will be running with their grade level only, and a new grade running approximately every 60 minutes or so. Children also do not have to run, but are welcome to walk or jog during the time given for their grade. Grade level running schedule will be provided prior to the event.
HOW MANY LAPS WILL THERE BE?
There will be a total of 36 short laps in the course. This will ensure that even the youngest kids can feel accomplished by running more than one lap. Children are welcome to run more than 36 laps, but pledge donations will be capped at 36 laps.
DO MY KIDS NEED TO PAY TO BE ABLE TO RUN?
No, all children are able to participate with no registration fee. We, the PTSO, would like this to be an inclusive event for all that promotes fitness and fun for everyone!
